The power has been restored to the resort’s shopping mall after a summer in the dark

Community lights are back on at Condado Al-Kasar shopping centre

It has been a tricky time for the Al-Kasar commercial centre on the Condado de Alhama resort recently, with dwindling funds and empty storefronts meaning the shopping mall has had to rely on volunteers and local businesses to pull up weeds and keep the place clean.

In addition, there has been no communal power at the Al-Kasar mall this summer, and therefore no external lighting.

Such issues should be resolved by the owners of the ‘centro comercial’, which in this case are the Sareb bank or state-owned ‘bad bank’, which bought the building when its previous owners, Polaris World, fell into bankruptcy in 2016.

For now, the lighting issue has been resolved and the power has once again been restored, “luckily just in time as the darker nights draw in,” according to Condado de Alhama community management.

Last June, the Condado de Alhama Board of Presidents agreed to take legal action against Sareb bank to force them to take care of the centre.
