The last three concerts of the 2026 San Javier Jazz Festival this week

Minor Jazz Collective, Raynald Colom, Pat Metheny, Lluís Coloma and Fusion Experience Quartet close another hugely successful season on the shore of the Mar Menor

As we move into the last ten days of July there are just three big nights left in the 2026 San Javier International Jazz Festival, and although given the quality of the acts over the last few weeks it would be unfair to say that the best has been saved for last, there is no doubt that these three nights are bound to attract a huge amount of interest.

The 12 concerts given so far have registered a total audience of around 11,000 people and there is little doubt that the figure will be swollen considerably over the next three, the first of which is on Tuesday 21^st July at 22.00 on Explanada Barnuevo in Santiago de la Ribera. Here, the Minor Jazz Collective and star trumpeter Raynald Colom are performing FREE OF CHARGE in an event which was postponed on Sunday in order not to coincide with the World Cup final, with the programme including a mix of jazz classics, jazz-flamenco, Latin jazz and original compositions by Antonio F. Baeza.

On Wednesday 22nd July perhaps the biggest name of this year’s festival makes his appearance. Pat Metheny presents his Side-Eye III+ Project in one of the most eagerly awaited events of the 2026 festival, and with 20 Grammys already under his belt the guitarist par excellence is guaranteed to bring in practically a full house at the open-air auditorium in Parque Almansa.

The final concert is on Friday 24th July at 21.30, also in Parque Almansa, and is a double Bill beginning with the Lluís Coloma Blues Project presenting “Rockin’ my Blues in San Javier”. This is one of the finest blues and boogie-woogie acts in Europe and a hard act to follow for the performers in the final part of the 2026 festival the Fusion Experience Quartet. A project formed by drummer Dave Weckl, bassist Richard Bona, guitarist Ciro Manna and pianist Michael Lecoq. This is the last chance to enjoy a fusion of jazz, rock and world music, as well as being a welcome return to San Javier for Dave Weckl, who has visited many times over the years (including in 2018 with Chick Corea).
