Spain's Black Flag beaches for 2026: The full list from Murcia to the Canary Islands
The full list of Spain's most environmentally troubled beaches and coastal areas in 2026

The Mar Menor in 2019
Environmental group Ecologistas en Acción has published its annual beach report and as in previous years, 48 Black Flags have been handed out to coastal sites across Spain identified as suffering from pollution or poor environmental management.
The group inspects more than 8,000km of Spanish coastline each year, awarding two flags per province or autonomous city to highlight the most significant cases.
Here's the full list for 2026:

Andalucía
• Huelva: Marismas del Tinto and Playa Central de Isla Cristina
• Cádiz: Bahía de Algeciras and the beaches of El Palmar, Trafalgar, Los Caños, Atlanterra, Valdevaqueros and Los Lances
• Málaga: Playa de Maro and the dune field at the Marbella Leisure Residence
• Granada: Playa de la Charca and Playa de los Berengueles
• Almería: Playa de Quitapellejos and the Levante beaches of the Punta Entinas-Sabinar Nature Reserve
Asturias
Playa de Bañugues and the Maqua marshes
Cantabria
Playa de Usgo and the Santander coastal path
Catalonia
• Tarragona: L'Ametlla de Mar and Playa de la Paella de Torredembarra
• Barcelona: Playa de Sant Adrià de Besòs and the Ricarda lagoon at the mouth of the Llobregat river
• Girona: Golfet de Palafrugell and Muntanyes de Begur
Ceuta
Monte Hacho Community Importance Site and the submerged area off Punta Almina
Valencian Community
• Alicante: Playa de la Almadrava and Albufereta i Cap de l'Horta
• Valencia: Beaches of Xeraco, Daimús and Tavernes de la Valldigna, and beaches surrounding the Port of Valencia and Sagunto
