Restaurante-Bar Los Galayos seafront dining in Puerto de Mazarrón
The tastes of the Mediterranean alongside specialities from Madrid and the UK
Blessed with a prime location, right on the seafront in Puerto de Mazarrón and with views out over the Mediterranean towards the lighthouse and the headland of Cabo Tiñoso, Restaurante-Bar Los Galayos welcomes customers from the morning until late in the evening, offering breakfasts (of the Spanish and “full English” varieties), snacks, tapas, a lunchtime Menú del Día and a full á la carte menu.
Manager and head chef Javi has studded the menu not only with many fish and seafood dishes, as is to be expected just a kilometre or so from the fishing port of Mazarrón, but also with a range of specialities from Madrid, where he worked for over a decade, and the UK: don’t be surprised to find cod and hand-cut chips alongside cocido madriléño among the offers of the day! In addition, there are mouth-watering toppings on toast alongside the traditional Spanish tapas, and talking of toast it’s important to mention the bread at Restaurante Los Galayos: Javi is particularly proud of his bread creations, which are proving very popular with diners and offer a choice of taste and ingredients such as walnuts, and sunflower seeds.
The weekday lunchtime Menú del Día is priced at just 12.90 euros, including a salad, choice of starters and main courses, bread and homemade dessert, and evening diners are welcome every day of the week except Sunday, when Los Galayos closes after lunch (in the winter months): drop in or call to make a booking.
During the Summer months of July and August Los Galayos offers the ‘Dish of the Day’ option ( instead of a full menu del dia) Monday - Fridays. Prices at 8.50€ and with a choice of a meat of fish themed plater which includes a drink with the meal. The dish choices are changed daily and offer a wide selection of dishes such as Seabream or Roasted Pigs cheek in red wine sauce served with rice and fresh vegetable or salad, Mediterranean spaghetti with prawns and clams or Oven roasted chicken, Seafood paella or Roasted ribs. Dishes are served with rice / potatoes and fresh vegetable or salad depending on the dish.
Winter months. Closed Mondays. Open Tuesdays till Saturdays 11am till late. Sundays 11 a.m till mid afternoon (closed in the evening).
