New Primark and Leroy Merlin stores to open in Parque Almenara shopping centre, Murcia

The Centro Comercial Parque Almenara mall will have a host of new stores over the coming months, including Murcia’s third Primark
Shoppers in the
Region of Murcia are excited for the addition of two new stores to the popular Parque Almenara shopping centre in
Lorca after it was announced that Primark and Leroy Merlín would both be opening in the mall soon.
The mall’s director, Rosana García, said, “We are going to have two openings with two stand-out brands, Leroy Merlín and Primark. They will consolidate Parque Almenara as one of the main shopping destinations in the Guadalentín region and the Almería Levante area.”
Thanks to these new stores, Parque Almenara will exceed 95% occupancy of its available floor space and now foresee an annual increase in visitors of one and a half million people.
When will the new Leroy Merlín and Primark shops open in Murcia?
Leroy Merlín will be the first of these large stores to open its doors in the Lorca shopping mall, and is scheduled to open its doors on Tuesday October 24. It will have a commercial area of more than 3,200m2 and will offer DIY products, construction materials, decoration and auxiliary furniture. This operator alone will generate more than 60 direct jobs for local residents.
As for Primark, there is still no set date for when the store is due to open but it will be before the end of the year. This will be the third Primark store in the Region of Murcia, and will have a floor space of over 3,000m2, offering the usual range of fashion items for women, men and children, as well as a complementary selection of home and beauty products.
The new Primark shop and Leroy Merlin homeware store are joined by new openings from Base, Cool and Loops & Coffee, as well as the Fitness Park gym, which will be opening early next year.
Base, the sportswear shop, will open in November 2023, whilst multi-brand fashion store chain Cool will be selling Levis, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein and Armani products, among others, before the Christmas season.
Finally, Loops & Coffee, a chain specialising in coffee and donuts, opened its new establishment in the Centro Comercial Parque Almenara at the beginning of September, including an outdoor terrace located in the central square.
In total, more than 10,000m2 of new commercial operators will be opened to the public in Parque Almenara, which will entail the direct creation of more than 150 new jobs.
