Murcia government will study adding more bus lines for Corvera Airport public transport
The regional Minister for Infrastructure has stated that he will “study the possibility” of putting on more buses
In a visit to the Region of Murcia International Airport, the regional Minister of Infrastructure Development, José Manuel Pancorbo, stated that the regional government is committed to making the airport accessible and will study the possibility of expanding the bus lines to passengers who arrive in the Region of Murcia.
The comments came while Minister Pancorbo was taking a tour of the facilities of the Cargo Terminal Building of Corvera Airport, where he also announced that he was working to obtain Border Inspection Posts so that the airport could be used for importing and exporting international cargo from outside of the European Union.
He said that “there are several companies interested in said management”, which would be “for the benefit of the Region of Murcia”.
No further details were offered on the future of public transport facilities to and from the airport for commercial passengers, but the Minister hinted that there could, at some point in the unspecified future, if it is deemed profitable by the regional government, be more bus lines and/or increased frequencies of the existing bus routes linking Corvera Airport to other localities in the Region.
The autumn-winter flight season has just begun at the Region of Murcia International Airport, and there are nine destinations that connect with the airport from now until March 2024.
