Doctors surgery and chemists in Los Urrutias 

The Region of Murcia’s health service runs a small and rather forlorn-looking medical centre by the sports pitches near the seafront on Calle Ramos Carratalá, next to the Neighbours’ Association and the Centro Social of the town (see map). This centre is normally open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12.00 to 14.00, and on Thursdays from 8.00 to 11.00.

Telephone calls should be directed to 968 543244 or 968 133352 (the Los Nietos medical centre), and alternatively calls are also taken on 968 134674. For making appointments in advance the regional health service number is 968 228250, and appointments can also be made online at https://sms.carm.es/cmap/iniciarReserva.do.

Emergency services are in place at the Consultorio of Los Urrutias during its opening hours, and at other times the nearest units are in El Algar (between 14.00 and 15.00) and La Unión. The closest hospitals are the Santa Lucía just outside Cartagena and Los Arcos in the outskirts of San Javier, both of which are approximately 20 minutes’ drive away.
