Click HereA weekend of fiestas is under way in Calabardina, the village at the foot of Cabo de Cope in Águilas, with a variety of activities planned between May 27 and May 29.
The events programmed are as follows:
Friday May 27
20.30: Fiesta for young people, starting with story-telling and then continuing with a junior disco at 22.00.
Saturday May 28
21.00: The Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool is shown on a giant screen in the fiestas marquee.
21.30: Communal sardine barbecue for all those attending.
23.00: Live entertainment from comic Greco and artists Juan Jumilla and Rosalez.
Sunday May 29
9.30: Musical parade in the streets featuring the San Juan Evangelista band.
10.30: Holy Mass in the fiestas marquee, followed by a petanca tournament, a dog show and a sack race, with prizes awarded at 13.00.
14.00: Giant communal paella (3 euros per portion).
15.30: Live music and dancing from the traditional folk groups of Marina de Cope and Cuesta de Gos.
