May 14-18 Torrevieja fiesta moves to Parque Antonio Soria

The Costa Blanca city will come alive with a festival tribute to Andalucía

The Costa Blanca city of Torrevieja has announced that its popular May Fair, or Feria de Mayo, will be held at a new location in 2025. Due to ongoing construction work in the port area, the event will take place at the Antonio Soria Park Markets from May 14 to 18.

Torrevieja’s annual May Fair is actually a tribute to the Sevillian fair held in April, and the streets come alive with traditional Andalucían dance troupes and horsemen and women. Expect lots of music, colour and fireworks.

This decision to move the festivities this year comes after the fair was previously relocated to the Parque de la Estación in 2023 and 2024, but has outgrown that venue.

The Antonio Soria Park Markets offer a larger space, with 80,000 square metres of esplanade, making it an ideal location for the fair. The venue is already familiar with hosting large events, including macro-concerts, a weekly market with 500 stalls and the popular paella festival during the patron saint's festivities.

However, it's worth noting that the site is located more than two kilometres from the city centre, which could cause problems for families wanting to attend.

The May Fair will share the space with the funfair, which has also been temporarily relocated to the Antonio Soria Park since 2023.

Meanwhile, the city has just approved a tender for the contract to organise the May Fair for 2025 and 2026 with a budget of 369,000 euros, or 184,274 euros per year, including VAT.

While the new location offers more space for the fair, it's unclear whether the weekly market will be suspended during the event, as has been the case in the past when large concerts are held in July and August.
