The Town Hall of Lorca has removed 96 tons of rubble from an unauthorized tip in the La Viña district at a site close to a school for children with special educational needs and alongside the A-7 motorway on the outskirts of the city.
Most of the materials removed were old bricks, tiles and other material from domestic building work, and they had been dumped on land belonging to the council. Steps are now being taken to ensure that the plot is not misused in the same way in the future, according to the council.
