ARCHIVED - Lorca Archaeological Museum re-opens
El Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Lorca can be visited on the same morning as a trip to the Lorca Visitor Centre and castle
The Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Lorca is located just around the corner from the Convento de las Mercedes Visitor Centre and car park and it’s easy to add into the mix for a daytrip out to Lorca.
The museum has an interesting collection of artifacts recovered from around the municipality ranging from pre-history to the Mediaeval, including ancient and very rare textiles recovered from one of the prehistoric sites of habitation and glass lamps found in the remains of the only mediaeval synagogue never to have been re-used for Christian worship in Spain which lies within the grounds of Lorca castle and the Parador Hotel alongside it.
Opening times June: (click for June information about the castle and visitor centre)
