Get ready for more loud sonic booms over Murcia this February

Supersonic flights linked to military training exercises may be heard across the Region this week
The Spanish Air and Space Force has announced that it will be carrying out yet more military manoeuvres that could produce sonic booms as the fighter jets fly over Murcia airspace.
The Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP) at Albacete Air Base is preparing for the FC 2025-1 flight course, which includes missions involving air defence radars. As part of the training, various resources, such as trucks and all-terrain vehicles, are being deployed.
During these exercises, supersonic flights are authorised. Despite mitigation measures and existing restrictions, some sonic booms may still be heard at ground level.
The slated time for these supersonic flights will be between the hours of 3.30pm and 5.30pm from Monday February 3 to Thursday February 13, excluding the weekend.
They have limited the training flights to these times in order to create as little disruption to ordinary citizens as possible.
If you do hear extremely loud banging noises in the afternoons, now you know why and not to be overly concerned.
