Molina Town Hall is giving away 25,000 vouchers for free parking in three of the town centre car parks to encourage shoppers to buy locally.

 

Businesses are still signing up for the initiative, named Vive Molina centro y aparca gratis (Live Molina centre and park free), and those taking part will display posters in the shop windows so that shoppers know where they can make a purchase and claim a voucher.

 

The campaign, subsidised by the Directorate General for Trade and Business Innovation of the Region of Murcia, applies to La Compañía, La Muralla and La Molinera car parks, where each voucher entitles motorists to 60 minutes' parking.

 

"This initiative has been highly demanded by traders and has the support of the Association of Shops and Professionals of Molina (Com-Pro) and the Association of Entrepreneurs and Shops of Segura (Asecom)," explained Councillor for Trade, Andrés Martínez, adding: "Our aim is that the campaign lasts a good period of time and that consumers associate coming to shop in the centre of Molina with the ease of free parking, like that of large supermarkets."
