ARCHIVED - Floodwater from the drains and sewers of Los Alcázares runs into the Mar Menor again
Rain fell steadily but not torrentially in much of Murcia on Tuesday morning
The rain which fell in the Region of Murcia on Tuesday morning as a result of the formation of an isolated high altitude depression (DANA) was minimal in comparison with the huge gota fría storm in September, but it was enough to send more floodwater into the Mar Menor from the streets and drains of Los Alcázares.
Thankfully there have been no reports of a repeat of the disastrous flooding which left Los Alcázares under water and mud in mid-September, but the sewage and drainage network of the town once again proved unable to cope with the rainwater, despite only 32 millimetres of rain being reported nearby in San Javier this morning (the figure will be updated during the day). The images in the video below were recorded in the vicinity of the Playa de la Concha by the platform group “Nuestro Mar Menor”.
Más heces y suciedad al #SOSMarMenor, que llega vía anónima de esta mañana en Los Alcázares.
