8 Blue Flag beaches in Mazarrón

The Blue Flag for beach tourism quality is an internationally recognized award given by the Foundation for Environmental Education, who bill the flag as “a world-renowned ecolabel trusted by millions around the globe”.

The criteria on which the award of Blue Flag status is based are grouped together in four areas, dealing in general terms with water quality, environmental information and education, the management of the environment and safety and the services and facilities made available to visitors. In this way residents and visitors at a Blue Flag beach are guaranteed that the part of the coastline where the flag is flying is clean and environmentally friendly and that adequate services are offered to make their visit as safe and enjoyable as possible.

In the municipality of Mazarrón the eight beaches awarded Blue Flag status for summer 2020 are those of Percheles, Rihuete, El Puerto, Bahía, Nares, Grande-Castellar, El Alamillo and El Mojón.
