August 9-16 San Roque neighbourhood fiesta in Torrevieja
One of the Costa Blanca’s favourite festivals returns with paellas, carnival and eight days of celebrations

One of Torrevieja's most popular summer fiestas is back, with eight days of live music, children's entertainment, great food and traditional celebrations taking over the San Roque neighbourhood from Sunday August 9 until Sunday August 16.
This year's programme has something for every age, from foam parties, dance performances and DJ nights to the ever-popular summer carnival and paella competition. The celebrations will end with a Holy Mass, the traditional procession in honour of San Roque and Santa Ana and a fireworks display.
Here's what's happening each day.
Sunday August 9
The festivities get underway at 7.30pm with children's games and a mini disco hosted by María José Soriano, followed by a free snack for youngsters while stocks last.
The evening continues with a performance from the Soul Dance Cultural Association at 8.30pm, a fundraising raffle at 10pm and music from DJ Rafa from 11.30pm.
Monday August 10
Children can cool off with water games from 7.30pm, before another fundraising raffle at 10pm.
The night's live entertainment comes from Adrián Ruiz, who will perform pop and Latin favourites with a flamenco and rumba twist from 11.30pm.
Tuesday August 11
The family entertainment continues at 7.30pm with a TikTok-themed activity for children.
The Ángela Esteban Dance Academy takes to the stage at 8.30pm, followed by the nightly raffle and another late session from DJ Rafa.
Wednesday August 12
A Unicorn Party and musical games kick things off for younger visitors from 7.30pm.
At 8.30pm, Paula M. Salgado presents an evening of oriental and traditional dance before the raffle and music from DJ Elías.
Thursday August 13
Children can enjoy a Tattoo Party from 7.30pm, followed by the nightly raffle and music from DJ Fredy Vidal.
Friday August 14
One of the biggest nights of the week sees the return of the colourful Summer Carnival Parade and Competition, starting at 7.30pm. Anyone wishing to take part can register at the fiesta tent.
After the raffle, the celebrations continue with a Grand Foam Party from 11.30pm, with music provided by resident DJ LICOS.
Saturday August 15
Saturday is expected to be one of the busiest days of the week thanks to the hugely popular Paella Competition.
The contest begins at 12 noon, with entries accepted at the fiesta tent. From 1.30pm, visitors can also enjoy the traditional Giant Paella, served with bread and a drink for an affordable price.
Judging starts at 2pm, before the evening programme gets underway with children's entertainment at 7.30pm.
Prizes for both the paella competition and carnival parade will be presented at 8.30pm, followed by the traditional Night of the Six Hams raffle at 10pm.
The day finishes with a live performance from Siempre Disco, who'll be playing disco classics from the 1970s right through to today's hits.
Sunday August 16
The final day begins with the fiesta bar opening from 11.30am until 1.30pm, with a free tapa offered with every drink.
Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8pm, followed by the traditional procession in honour of San Roque and Santa Ana at 8.30pm. A fireworks display will mark the end of the religious celebrations.
The final fundraising raffle takes place at 10.30pm, with three double prizes up for grabs, before DJ Elías brings this year's fiestas to a close from midnight.
Anyone wanting to reserve a table during the festivities can do so at the fiesta bar or by calling 625 906 798.
