Arctic air brings sub-zero temperatures: Spain weather forecast November 17-20
Winter weather will arrive in full force to large parts of Spain over the next few days

Average temperatures forecast on Thursday November 20
After a weekend of heavy rain caused by Storm Claudia, winter temperatures will arrive in full force and cause a sudden change in the weather across Spain over the next few days.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the tail-end of Storm Claudia will cross mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands during Monday and Tuesday, bringing widespread showers and intense thunderstorms to the north of the country and far south in the Gulf of Cádiz.
Meteorologists also warn that the coming week will be “colder than normal for this time of year” thanks to the entry of an Arctic air mass, which will see the thermometers plunge below zero in many areas.
Monday November 17

Monday will be cloudy or overcast in most of the country, with heavy downpours and thunderstorms in the southwest. Daytime temperatures will take a noticeable dip pretty much across the board, with maximum highs of around 20 or 21ºC expected in Andalucia and the Region of Murcia.
Yellow weather alerts for heavy rain are in place in Andalucia, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, Catalonia and the autonomous city of Ceuta.
Tuesday November 18

Settled weather is expected in most of Spain on Tuesday with mostly clear or partly cloudy skies in the southern and northeastern parts, and abundant low-lying clouds in the morning elsewhere, generally clearing later. Only in the far north of the country will the arrival of a humid northerly flow bring persistent cloud cover with a chance of some light, occasional rain in the Cantabrian region and northern Galicia. This northerly flow will also bring cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms to the Balearic Islands, which could be locally heavy and occasionally affect the Catalan coast.
Daytime temperatures will remain largely unchanged but Tuesday night will be noticeably colder, with the mercury dropping into single digits in most parts.
Wednesday November 19

The arrival of a cold front is expected to bring unsettled weather with cloudy or overcast skies across most of the northern third of the country, and widespread, persistent rain is forecast in the north. It should be calm enough in the rest of the country, although there’s still a chance of showers on the islands.
Daytime temperatures will continue to fall in the north and west of Spain.
Thursday November 20

The Arctic air mass will lead to overcast skies across Spain on Thursday, with showers, thunderstorms and even hail expected in the north and in the Balearics. With the exception of the southwest, where the skies will remain bright and sunny, most parts can expect heavy cloud cover and occasional showers.
Temperatures will fall across the board again, although Thursday night should be a little milder in southern Spain.
