On Sunday the Murcia region suffered a slight setback in its Covid-19 evolution when the number of active cases rose by 64 after 426 PCR tests and 1,343 rapid tests highlighted 64 new positives.
On Monday the regional health consejero de Salud, Manuel Villegas, denied that there had been a new outbreak of cases due to the new flexibilisation of the phase zero de-escalation last week, maintaining that the “new cases” has been discovered using the rapid test kits from the list of those calling the helpline with symptoms and had been classified as active as the patients tested were not completely clear of the virus (although only showing mild symptoms).
The figures presented by the regional health authority are published in the evening and are included in the national figures published the following day.
The figures for Sunday evening (included in the Monday national totals) are as follows:
Region of Murcia
Total active cases: 407 (one less than Sat.)
Total cases: 2332 (1517 diagnosed by PCR 815 using rapid tester)
Hospitalised: 41
Intensive care: 12
Home isolation: 366
Fatalities: 139
Cured 1786
Murcia continues to maintain the lowest incidence rate of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants of Spain, as well as the lowest number of fatalities and cases.
PLEASE STAY AT HOME AND RESPECT THE NEED TO AVOID THE FURTHER SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS.
