ARCHIVED - Cartagena spraying against Tiger Mosquitos for the next four nights
Residents are asked to close windows according to the schedule listed below
The Tiger Mosquito has been problematic this spring due to the high levels of rainfall and Cartagena is amongst the councils undertaking both larvicidal and insecticidal spraying at the moment.
For the purpose of practical spraying against the Tiger Mosquito, Cartagena council has divided the municipality into four zones, and will target each in rotation.
The treatments will be carried use nebulization / pulverization ULV (ultra low volume), chemical synthesis pyrethroids of alpha-cypermethrin, cypermethrin and Deltamethrin.
The council requests that windows and doors be closed, particularly for residents near to green or wet areas and advises that residents should avoid walking in recently sprayed areas until after 12 midday.
This week spraying is taking place as following in the outlying districts of the municipality:
Tuesday 26th from 10pm to 8am on Wednesday morning:
Pozo Estrecho, El Albujón, Lomas del Albujón, La Aljorra, Miranda, La Aparecida, La Palma and La Puebla.
Wednesday night/ early Thursday morning between the same hours:
Llano del Beal, Estrecho de San Ginés, El Beal, El Algar, Media Legua, Vista Alegre and Alumbres, durante la madrugada del miércoles al jueves.
Thursday night / early Friday morning between the same hours:
San Isidro, La Magdalena, Residencial Buenos Aires, Molinos Marfagones, Barriada Hispanoamérica, Los Dolores and El Bohío
Friday night / early Saturday morning between the same hours:
El Portús, Galifa, Cuesta Blanca, Perín, La Azohía and Isla Plana
Treatment repeated four times
There will be repeats of the treatment in these same from June 15th to 21st, from July 6th to 12th, from July 27th to 31st, and from August 10th to 15th .
