ARCHIVED - Andalusia orders the perimeter closure of Granada and its metropolitan area as of Monday
A curfew will be in place between 11pm and 6am
The Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) has published the resolution of the Territorial Committee of High Impact Public Health Alert of Granada, which has decided to adopt the restrictive measures contained in the bulletin of September 29 in the capital of the province Granada, as well as for the rest of the municipalities that make up the urban agglomeration of Granada.
According to Decree 244/1999 of December 27, which approves the Plan for the Planning of the Territory of the Urban Agglomeration of Granada, they are Albolote, Alfacar, Alhendín, Armilla, Atarfe, Cájar, Cenes de la Vega, Cijuela, Cullar -Vega, Chauchina, Churriana de la Vega, Dílar, Fuente Vaqueros, Gójar, Guevejar, Huetor- Vega, Jun, Lachar, Maracena, Monachil, Ogíjares, Otura, Peligros, Pinos-Genil, Pinos-Puente, Pulianas, Santa Fe, Viznar, La Zubia, Las Gabias, Valderrubio and Vegas del Genil.
The Committee, which met urgently in the afternoon of Friday, has made this decision after this Friday the cumulative incidence rate reached 977 in Granada capital, 968.9 per 100,000 inhabitants in the Granada District and in the Metropolitan at 774.5. Furthermore, hospital pressure continues to mount.
This resolution will take effect from 8:00 a.m. on October 26th, 2020 and the agreed measures will be in force for a period of 14 calendar days, and may be revised depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation.
In addition, the order will be published that will provide the necessary legal framework to articulate the restriction of night mobility in those municipalities that the High Impact committees determine.
Thus, it is established, on a temporary and exceptional basis, the limitation of the mobility of people in the time slot that runs from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. as a specific containment and prevention measure, to face the crisis health caused by the coronavirus in the localities or part of them in which it is so determined according to the specific epidemiological evaluation.
The Spanish Cabinet will meet on Sunday morning and is expected to approve a state of emergency, removing the need to seek judicial approval for the implementation of these measures.
