ARCHIVED - 84.9 per cent of the population of Murcia over the age of 12 has been fully vaccinated
Spain has now fully vaccinated 75% of the adult population
On Wednesday evening (September 15) the Spanish Health Minister Carolina Días announced that Spain has passed the next landmark figure in its vaccine campaign, with 75% of the adult population fully vaccinated, some 35,571,661 people. In addition, 37,303,202 people, or 78.6% of the population, have received at least one dose.
The latest figures from the Murcian regional health authorities indicate that 1,167,107 residents of the Murcia region have received at least one dose of a covid vaccine, accounting for 89.1% of the population aged over 12 and 1,112,873 residents are now fully immunised with two doses of the Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca vaccines or one injection of the Janssen monodose vaccine.
In the Murcia region 1,310,137 individuals aged over 12 are entitled to a vaccination, so at the moment 84.9% of the population of the region entitled to a vaccine have now been fully immunised.
In the Murcia region 100% of those aged over 80 have been fully vaccinated, the major challenge now being to complete the vaccination programme in the younger groups.
At the moment 99.8% of those in the 70-79 age group are fully vaccinated; 97.4% of the 60- 69 age group; 94.9% of the 50-59 age group; 87.1% of the 40-49 age group; 72.7% of the 30-39 age group; 71.2% of the 20-29 age group and 69.1% of the 12-19 age group.
One dose: 100% of those aged over 60 have received at least one dose and the figures in the remaining age groups are as follows: 96.6% of 50-59; 89.6% of 40-49; 77.2% of 30-39; 77.9% of 20-29; 79.6% of 12-19 year olds.
The region has good stocks of vaccines; the principal challenge is to encourage the remaining residents yet to be vaccinated to come forward for their jab.
The regional health authority continues to reiterate that the majority of patients currently hospitalised with more severe cases have not been vaccinated.
If you have not yet been vaccinated for whatever reason, go to your local health centre and ask for an appointment or visit the online booking system of the Murcian Health Service. Click for details.
