ARCHIVED - 8 roads still closed by flooding in the Campo de Cartagena
Only one major road in Moratalla is still blocked by snow while a rockfall has closed the RM-701 outside Lorca

After the heavy rain and snow of Monday and Tuesday in the Region of Murcia the regional government reports on Wednesday morning that a total of nine roads remain closed to traffic as the situation gradually improves.
Eight of the roads concerned are in the Campo de Cartagena, where the torrential rain of Tuesday morning again led to flooding as runoff water made its way towards the Mar Menor area, while the other is in the municipality of Moratalla in the north-west of the Region. Indeed, it is only in outlying villages of Moratalla that school has been cancelled on Wednesday, with classes resuming in all other parts of Murcia either on Tuesday, in the case of the rest of the north-west, or on Wednesday in Los Alcázares and San Javier.
In addition, a rockfall in the outskirts of Lorca has forced the closure of the RM-701 leading to La Parroquia and Vélez Blanco.
