A dozen countries are exempt from the order as well as EU member states
The Official State Gazette (BOE) published a ministerial order this Wednesday extending the closure of the Schengen border until midnight on September 30th, and only travelers from a dozen countries will be allowed to enter as an exception.
The only non-European citizens allowed to enter Spain willc ome from Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay and China, although in the latter case the EU decided to subject it to reciprocity .
The closure of the external border provides exceptions and does allow the entry of citizens or residents in the Schengen zone, cross-border workers, students with their corresponding visa, health professionals, including health researchers, and elderly care professionals who are directed or return from carrying out their work activity, personnel dedicated to the transport of goods, military, diplomatic or consular personnel.
